I am a lover of video games, cats, and my long-distance partner, in reverse order.
The aforementioned greatly influence my life and my work, but some of my other inspirations include the shows Samurai Jack and Courage the Cowardly Dog because they often tackle dark topics in a light-hearted manner, easily digestible by anyone, and they have shaped my personality since childhood.
I tend to work in different mediums because I have a varied background - I have done fine art, pencil drawing, compositional arts, sculpting, digital painting, 3D modelling, photography, animation, film making, and games design.
The topics I choose can jump from tackling serious issues to creating brightly coloured pieces with no deeper meaning -just pleasant aesthetics.

Save The Bees - version 3
Inspired by the original colours and geometric design of the Just Bee logo, version 3. I wanted to make an abstract design that is still clearly legible - it depicts the pathway of the bee spelling out the words ''Save The Bees.''

Above Your Worries
For me, travel usually involves the process of getting through airports and flying.. The former includes a lot of stress, but once you become settled on the plane and in the air, all the troubles from the past are forgotten. In the air, you can view the ground from a different perspective both...

Longing
The journey requires a destination, but what awaits the traveller? I thought about how the grass always seems greener elsewhere, and yet everyone has different goals and diferent ways of achieving them.

Tangle of the Past
The poem ''Blank Pages'' resonated with me because it related to the idea of creating a new beginning - a fresh start from the events of the past. It inspired me to create this sculpture out of the metal wiring of my old wirebound notebooks, containing information in the form of chapters of my life...

Solitary Doodle
Inspired by the Tranquility theme, I thought of the way I sometimes start doodling absent-mindedly, in a relaxed, yet focused state.

Burden of War
Inspired by the single ''Cruel World'' by Calva Louise, I went for a messy, yet fluid approach with the image to depict the hectic and yet harmonised melody.

Chilling Lamp Post
On my way home one day, I discovered a seemingly cold lamp post. It made me wonder about the events leading up to this scenario - who went out of their way to dress the lamp post...? The odd juxtaposition was even more striking due to the stark contract of the green grass and pink towel.

Translucent Depth (final...
The first thoughts that came into my head as I thought of serene sleep and comfort were surrounding water, especially jellyfish as they allow the currents to take them wherever they may lead. They project a calming sense of flow, and at the same time - stillness.

Translucent Depth (video)
The video shows how I achieved the image - I used a program called Alchemy which allows experimentation, as the tools don't necesarily function as one would expect, thus creating a sense of uncertainty about the final piece as I had no idea how it would turn out. The first thoughts that came into...

Eager
A tribute to my first cat who recently passed away. I wanted to use this opportunity to commemorate his excitement about canned food, which brings back happy memories for me about his vocal meows and impatient pacing while waiting for his food. The piece is 15cm in diameter, and it portrays his...

Ignorance Imprisonment
I was inspired by Mark King's piece called ''The Heart.'' It instilled a feeling of anxiety and lack of control in relation to the heart in the cage, so I aimed to depict a fragile heart, representing our health, which greedy doctors can exploit for their own gain. Most of us wouldn't know any...

Tar Swamp
I tried to depict the earliest nightmare I can remember - when I was about 4 years old. It was a simple scene, yet none the less haunting - a first person view of me drowning in tar in a swamp, getting helplessly swallowed and taken through the stream. The simplicity was most striking because of...

Mysterious AI Override
I found a series of photos on my phone that I do not remember taking. To me, they resemble a landscape layered in the distance, yet each image is slightly different in composition and colour... It made me wonder - what is my phone trying to tell me with a mind of its own? It made me wonder if...

Harmony
I was inspired by the improvisation in dance and combination of loose garments, which had an overall feeling of chaotic, jumbled freedom of expression. The flower represents the beauty in spontaneity, and the petals flow together, showing harmony in random patterns. I added an orange scent to the...

What's at the end?
I was inspired by all the different kinds of work on display, which made me think of the various twists, turns and connections the artists have had in their lives which got them to this point, and inspired them to come up with such unique ideas.

DNA Data
This piece imagines a stream of binary data as DNA; each stores information which can be altered. Like malicious mutations in DNA, there may be errors in code.

Christmas? Tree.
Incomplete, unpolished, inadequate, undeveloped, insufficient, undecorated, and unfinished. Fir tree, made from (mostly) green glass bottle shards found on Latvian beaches and smoothened by the sea waves... But it's plain. It's dark. It doesn't evoke joy. It is not lit.

This piece was inspired by the song ''In the Name of God!'' which tackles the issues of violence and hatred spawned by different religions. I wanted to portray a simple perspective of two soldiers on opposite sides who, instead of blindly fighting for their own cause like the rest, actually put in...
