Deadline: midnight Monday 16th October
We invite you to respond to the theme ‘ego’ - our third DanceEast opportunity of the season, this is really fun call-out with a cool opportunity!
How can you express the concept of the self? The fluctuating state of everyone’s self-worth and importance? The idea that how people think of themselves differently to how they appear to others? And also, how people with different views may fight and argue due to their own pride?
Feel free to respond in any way you like, and in any medium by midnight Monday 16th October to be considered!
From the responses created, DanceEast will select up to three pieces to be featured in a news article on their website and an exclusive newsletter which they are sending out to all of their contacts - making this an excellent exposure opportunity!
In addition to this, two people who create a response to this will receive two tickets each for the performance of Cockfight - to say thank you from DanceEast! It is highly recommended by the staff, so if you would like to be considered for this part of the prize as well, please use the tag #ticket in your upload.
About the performance
This opportunity is connected to the performance Cockfight by The Farm at the DanceHouse this Autumn. The dance is about two men who are having a fight in their office - a darkly humourous and tender piece of dance theatre which explores the power play between men, the frailty of the ageing body, and questions culture’s desperate desire for achievement.
