I think the light falling on the person's back and all the tones it creates is really interesting, which is why I selected it to be in the Curated Space. The relaxed pose makes the figure look human and real, yet the turned head gives the piece a sense of mystery and actively breaks the 'male gaze' which can be apparent in a lot of nude portraiture.

Thank you so much! I wanted to be able to portray the body as a beautiful thing by disconnecting all the automatic connotations that people associate with it (sexuality, gender ect.) And encouraging the viewer to look beyond the surface and really appreciate and understand the body rather than them just glancing and moving on.
