Conflict is intrinsic to the human condition internally and externally as a mode to: change, evolve, grow and aspire. When in balance with harmony this integral state (of conflict) pushes us to greater achievement. Conflict is apparent in the very building blocks of the physical world and is mirrored by the human story.
Depicted here is an eternal story of human conflict the internal battle between head and heart. Utilizing abstracted figures within the organs (brain and heart) it is a visual representation of what can be called a defining human quality ‘abstraction’ – a conceptual process which facilitates many if not all human achievements.
Keeping the media to ‘simple’ pencil is a way to express the human dominant sense ‘sight’ as this is the main tool I use in my practice to hone my observational skills.
