My work presents an interactive disaster digital game, a 21-meter panoramic scroll, and a media colour chart, cartoon-y painting work. The media produce and commercialize more and more fascinating images to satisfy the needs of the dulled public with the quantitative repetition of stimulation. The task is to try to understand how the stimulation of mass media images distracts people from real content and makes it harder for them to sympathize with the pain of others, whilst attempting to interpret how the public responds to them, and using the medium to remove and hide negative elements. The work of art reforms the content from the real cruelty of the media displayed and through this it paradoxically maximizes the position the media portrays for the public consuming the image.
Especially this colour chart and painting shows the event of North Korean army soldier's defection at the Joint Security Area (JSA)
'The South Korean military has started broadcasting news of a North Korean soldier’s recent defection through loudspeakers set up along the inter-Korean border.
The daring escape of the 24-year-old soldier has provided the South with new ammunition in its propaganda war with Pyongyang. The soldier's escape made headlines around the world as he was caught on CCTV driving a car across the heavily guarded Joint Security Area (JSA), the only point in the demilitarized zone (DMZ) where soldiers of the two countries stand face-to-face, then running across the military demarcation line under a hail of bullets.'
