We are delighted and excited to announce that our lovely Laurel, currently Creative Project Manager at PMM, is expecting her first baby with her husband Matt!! And we thought, what better to celebrate a new life in Pop My Mind than with a new opportunity!
We’d love you to create a new piece of work in any medium in response to the idea of new beginnings or new life.
This also ties into the launch of the DanceEast performance ‘Daughter, Daughter - Before I Met You’ by Joseph Toonga, which explores parenthood from a father’s perspective.
Work in any medium that’s created in response to this theme will be considered for a professional group exhibition!
Deadline: Midnight Monday 19th March
Selected pieces from this call-out (and one more call-out coming soon) will be included in an exciting professional group exhibition at the Whistler Gallery, the DanceHouse, Ipswich this Spring. The exhibition is due to start in early May 2018 and last for 3 weeks, and is curated by Pop My Mind artist / curator Sarah Mallett.
The Selection Process
All mediums will be considered for this reward, including written word and audio.
Simply upload a new piece of work created in response to this theme by pressing the ‘Pop This’ button to be in with a chance of being exhibited. Sarah will select the pieces of work included in this exhibition based on the strength of creativity, thought and execution.
You can submit more than one piece of work to this challenge if you like. The pieces of work along the creative chain that originated from this call-out will also be considered for the reward.
It is free to submit to this opportunity, but please note if you are chosen to be exhibited you will be responsible for framing and attaching d-rings and hanging string to any 2D artwork of yours, as well as covering postage costs of your pieces to and from the venue.
