We challenge you to video yourself creating a new piece of work from scratch! This is a challenge brought to you from fellow PMM artist Riedstra who created the beautiful piece above.
Create something wacky, surprising, clever, or just damn talented (we know you are, don’t be shy) and film it nicely so that we can see your working process.
We are incorporating this as part of our next social media campaign - our aim is to make your video go viral!
Good quality videos that we love will be uploaded to our Youtube account and we are going to try our hardest at spreading it far and wide.
Top tips for your video
Use a real camera (not a phone!) and in high resolution
Try and use a tripod or stand to film your piece from a higher perspective
The more light the better! We’d strongly recommend you take this in daylight or bright white artificial lighting if daylight isn’t possible
Use the PMM staff! If you have all the raw footage but not the video editing software, send it our way and we can edit it for you, make it into a timelapse film, etc.
Top tips for going viral
Create something visually eye-catching
Do something unusual or surprising - such as using a novel mediums
Try filming yourself creating something very big or very small - e.g. painting a massive canvas or drawing something the size of a postage stamp - as this will make viewers even more impressed by your work
Show your talent - creating something that shows your technical skill makes it more likely to be shared
Adding music boost your views. Perhaps you could collab with a PMM musician!
Do something that carries an emotional significance, such as painting a loved one or admired public figure, or something that carries a meaning such as making music about changing mental attitudes towards mental health or a sculpture raising awareness of climate change etc. This makes viewers connect to your work.
Be authentic. Be the real you, make your real work, because you are awesome!
