"Read All About It" got me thinking about the stories we see in the news, especially regarding celebrities and the scandal that can often erupt around them.
We live in a world still caught up in the effects of the Weinstein Effect, with sexual misconduct being rife in Hollywood and famous names being highlighted either as a perpetrator or a victim.
Openness around mental health is being encouraged in our world. This, inevitably, leads to well-known people speaking out about their own struggles- people who would never previously have been thought as having any kind of mental or emotional turmoil.
There are stories emerging in the news every day which have the potential to cause shock among the world's populace. These stories, had they not been announced by the media, would remain hidden from everyone, but their revelation can generate bewilderment in a previously unaware world.
This sense of shock is what lies at the centre of "Smile for the camera".
