As a French native and member of the European Union, I cannot help but worry about the repercussions of "Le Brexit" on the 29th March. The future is uncertain. Hence my decision to apply for naturalisation as a British citizen.
As part of the process, I had to pass a Life in the UK test. I kept my preparation notes and decided to creatively recycle them. I meticulously tore the rice paper in thin stripes and used soft pastels to deconstruct the words and their meaning. I was reminded of both the Union Jack and French flag and wondered what it will mean to live with two intertwined nationalities.
This image is my representation of the utter confusion born from the monster that Brexit is.
