“Rhythmic Intensity” illustrates the current euphoria I was feeling while painting this picture. It is a happy painting, and it expresses the freedom I had with the canvas size and colour. I had no “decided” image in my head as to what it would look like – as it goes with all of my paintings; it is about something that somebody can experience and feel the same way I do. “Rhythmic Intensity” was painted directly on to standard, plain wallpaper and I used the advantage of its length to create a panorama type painting. Using a longer canvas I found was enjoyable because it was different to work with something larger to allow the visual development of the image instead of the restriction of square canvas.
(The tape on the sides of the painting are for displaying uses, not part of the design however I believe it adds an effective value towards the painting.)
