On 18th February 2016, Pop My Mind hosted a one-of-a kind live collaborative event entitled "Sonification Live". The event centred around the practice of Sonification, which is the process of using software in order to convert images into sound. The improvisation consisted of our Sonification expert Liam Taylor manipulating images and sounds in real-time and inviting performance artist Mary Benefiel and Jazz musician Paul Fisk to improvize in response to the sonifications. PMM Invention Award winner Emily Godden was also part of the collaboration, projecting images onto a window user a home-made projector! The 40-strong audience were the final part of the collaboration, drawing and sketching in response to the sounds that were bouncing around the room! This excerpt is taken from the first improvisation, where Sam Spicer's illustration "Healing Hands" provoked the sound that catalysed the release. The collaboration doesn't stop here! What will you create in response to the performance?
