The fire is a sign to danger, and danger is everywhere. The painting feature the dying trees and the hopeless buildings being surrounded by the abstract flame, inspired by the events of fires destroying nature all around the world. My takes on the subject is showing my critical view towards the sublime; inspired by the studies and theories of Edmund Burke, and it’s the terror and obscurity, that are the content behind the painting. Fearful and petrified are my emotions toward the subject matter, as fire has been a serious threat to not only the beautiful lands of nature, but to the people and the buildings. The context and the colour of the subject matter are influenced by the works of Maria Magdalena Spindler.
